Oscar Night
Here at Chocolatie, it's an odd mix of hoping and slow. The woman behind me has been on Skype or her phone for hours, making me hope that Chocolati's internet would crash (I might also be able to finish the paper I've come here to work on). Anyway two women are sitting in front of me. I think they are family (for any anonymous readers who might read this blog, though I'm not really sure why you would, that's an affection term we LGBT folks sometimes use to refer to others of our kind). I thought this from the second they walked in. They radiate that hypster young queer vibe. But what just sealed it for me was overhearing them talk about the Oscars and say that Sandra Bullock is an amazing actress and should have won an Oscar for Speed. I love Sandra Bullock and I thought her role in The Blind Side was absolutely amazing and totally Oscar worthy. And I love that Speed probably introduced me to this sexy and witty actress- but Speed was not and never be worthy of any awards. It should be teased on USA Up All Night (not that I'm sure that it even exists). It should hold a special spot in our B movies that somehow made big money at the box offices, but it is definitely not a quality movie.
