There's just something about a conversation that starts out, I got so drunk last night, when they aren't 22 year olds that peaks my curiosity.
Right now we have two women chatting. I'm guessing late 30s. The one with her back to me has a voice I sort of want to tune out. The one sort of turned facing me is listening to her friend who sounds like she's moving soon. And now talking about hospitals and blood and all sorts of awful, some sort of bacteria. But it sounds like a distanced story, maybe about a brother...
Things of interest - wonder how close of friends they are, there's no touching/comforting in the story. Although they are sitting sort of next to each other instead of across from each other.
...
"Her man's there..." Who says that? Who knew eavesdropping brings out a mildly judgmental part of me.
Wow - I can't tell if she's talking about a boyfriend or a brother, maybe a step sibling, but whoever it is gets drunk and physical, like punches the one referred to as a brother.
Ok. Really going to focus now.

Politeness
Today at Chocolati, while I should be the picture of focus, I was distracted by an old guy and three younger (25ish) people. The three 25ish year olds came to Chocolati to catch up and be social with one another. Little did they know their conversation would be hijacked by random older dude.
Things that amused me. One the body language of the young ones. They were definitely trying to be polite, but also were not interested in talking with this guy. I didn't do the turn the volume off the headphones to listen more closely (attempting to maintain that picture of focus and determination). From what intruded through the headphones and focus, was conversation about travel and the older dude trying to put his opinions on travel on middle girl. Middle girl was making it obvious that the boy was her boyfriend. They didn't stop touching the entire time. But I think the effort was more concerted as if trying to say - older dude, don't even think you have a chance, because you don't have a chance and I have a boyfriend. Older dude wanted her to be a happy globe trotter, and while she did do it, I got the impression she would be fine if she never left the PNW again, unless for short trips, like cruises or something.
Anyway, I was just amused. They have gone, as have many of the customers that made it crowded earlier today, so now time to get back to being the picture of dedication and focus!
